Cécile Corbel

"She lives at the end of south Finistère, where granite cliffs border the Atlantic.
She wanders along the coastal path, through the ferns and gorse trees hidden in the backcountry hollows.
Dreamy and melancholy, she observes the Bay of Douarnenez at the bottom of which she can guess the walls of the city of Ys, the sunken city of Princess Dahut.
She runs after myths, legends and fables, looking for inspiration, for the grace of autumn mornings, for the song of moors quivering in the wind, and the one of the great seabirds which inspires her the first notes of a new melody.

Nomad and troubadour, Cécile Corbel is a tamer of strings, the Celtic Harp strings she discovered at the age of fifteen.
Her long years of studies in archeology have opened the doors of curiosity and brought her to new paths, from Ireland to Greenland, from Burma to Japan where she composed for the animated films of Ghibli studios. "After all, Arrietty's little borrowers are just korrigans," she says. Myths always end up crossing each other.
Today, her harp and her voice are singing for kids around the world, whether they come from Tokyo Bay or La Pointe Du Raz in Brittany, because, as Brel sang so well, all children, sons of Cesar of sons of nothing, all children are like hers. »

"Enfant Du Vent" (new album march 2019 Polydor Universal)
"When Irish gypsies meet Totoro, when snowmen fly away, or when frogs dance the jig, when the ball of cats and mice is in full swing between two Breton lullabies, Littel one and Grown ups meet each other over these 19 original songs and covers.
This new album is an imaginary and poetic journey in the world of childhood, on the path of the wind, between Celtic countries and Japan.
Recorded during the year 2018 with many musicians, with original duets, and a children's choir, "Enfant Du Vent" is Cécile Corbel's 8th studio album.
Unclassifiable artist, harpist, singer, composer and young mother, twice gold record and consecrated soundtrack of the year in 2010 for the movie "Arrietty the Little World of the Borrowers" from Studios Ghibli, the musician continues her quest for wonder. "
"Telling stories, on stage and in my songs, and play for you traveling melodies, that's what I like most in my harpist-troubadour life, and that maintain in me "the little magic spark," the one that is precious, that connects each of us to childhood and joy.
This new album follows my steps, from the wild coast of Finistère where I grew up, to Japan, this amazing country I have so strong links with, since the composition of the soundtrack of the animated film "Arrietty" for the Ghibli Studios.
You will also follow me in Celtic countries, meet Ireland and gypsies, listen to children's voices coming out of a dream, and to the singing of wonderful women I was blessed to sing with - Japan's Misaki Iwasa or Quebec's Natasha St Pier.
This album is made of twirling melodies, of songs to dance, grow, travel, cry a little sometimes, dream a lot, and fall asleep after a busy day ...
Like the ocean, which sometimes dances, grunts or cradles,
"Enfant Du Vent" wears the colors of life ...
It's a joyous and nomadic record, also a maternal one, since my path as a musician has been enriched for 3 years by the presence by my side of a little man, which gives me wings and a constantly renewed inspiration.
He is the child of the wind, and me too, perhaps, and you, too, surely, who keeps a part of childhood in your heart. Grown ups or little ones, on the wings of the wind, I hope you will enjoy these 19 new songs.
